Local Summer Fun Destinations

Summer’s finally here, and we’re all dying to be outside to get some fresh air! Luckily, our local communities have so much to offer for family fun so close to home.

Keep reading for some local places to take your kiddos this summer!

Fort Atkinson:

Fort Atkinson Family Aquatic Center: Take a break from the heat and take a dip in the pool! With a 175 foot waterslide, diving boards, water basketball hoop, and more, the kids won’t be bored this summer! Learn more about the Aquatic Center here.

Hoard Historical Museum: Explore Fort Atkinson’s history through immersive exhibits and collections of artifacts, artwork, and family friendly activities. The museum offers free admission and donations are greatly appreciated, learn more here.

Fort Wheels Park: This skate park is a great place to take your kiddos for some fun and exercise! The skate park includes an open bow, rails, ramps, and raised obstacles, learn more here.

Dorothy Carnes Park: Enjoy 9 miles of hiking trails on 512 acres of wildlife located just outside of Fort Atkinson. The park is a great place for a picnic, hiking, dog walking, and more, learn more here.

Local parks: Fort Atkinson is full of parks within walking distance from nearly anywhere in town. Jones Park, Ralph Park, Barrie Park, and Memorial Park, just to name a few, offer great picnic areas and playgrounds for your kiddos! Learn more here.

Dwight Foster Public Library: Help your kiddos avoid the summer slide by picking up a book! The Library hosts their Summer Reading Program for kids, where you can win awesome prizes just for reading! Whitewater:

Whitewater Aquatic and Fitness Center: Play all day with a 120 foot waterslide, leisure pool, lap pool, lazy river, play structure, and whirlpool as well as a fitness center! Learn more here.

Rotary Skate Park: The perfect place for skateboarding, bike tricks, or rollerblading! Whitewater’s skate park is equipped with street spines, angled wall rides, and more, learn more here.

Local Parks: Whitewater has a variety of parks perfect for a family outing, including: Starin Park, Cravath Lakefront Park, Trippe Lake Park, Moraine View Park, and more! Learn more here.

Irvin L. Young Memorial Library: Kiddos can participate in the Summer 2021 Reading Challenge to win fun prizes for reading! The Library also hosts a variety of activities and programs throughout the summer, learn more here!

Jefferson:

Jefferson Family Aquatic Center: Enjoy the sunshine and beautiful weather in a zero-depth pool, 148 foot waterslide, picnic areas, concession stands and more! Learn more here.

Local Parks: Get outside for a breath of fresh air at one of Jefferson’s local parks, including: Countryside Park, Oakridge Park, Riverfront Park, Stoppenbach Park, Utility Park, and more! Learn more here.

Watertown:

Watertown Aquatic Center: Go for a swim in the lap pool, zero-depth pool, 216 foot waterslide, and more! Learn more here.
