FORT ATKINSON, WI – Fort Community Credit Union (FCCU) donated $1,000 to the Fort Atkinson Beautification Council to support their efforts to bring a cow parade to Fort Atkinson.

The mission of the Beautification Council is to improve and beautify the community of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Fort Atkinson has a rich history around the dairy industry. Within the city lies the National Dairy Shrine, TopCon, Nasco, Jones Dairy Farm and Hoard’s Dairyman. The Beautification Council is bringing a city-wide display of seven breeds of dairy cows to honor Fort Atkinson’s dairy heritage and National Dairy Shrine prominence.

“We are excited for the opportunity to support the Beautification Council’s Cow Parade project” said Sue Johnson, President and CEO at FCCU.

FCCU will be hosting an Ayrshire replica for the Fort Atkinson Cow Parade project outside their main branch, 800 Madison Ave in Fort Atkinson. Later this year, FCCU will hold a naming competition among their member-owners.

Donating to efforts such as the Fort Atkinson Beautification Council Cow Parade project is part of the credit union difference. One of the founding principles of credit unions is concern for community. This translates to donations to local charities, such as the Beautification Council, for projects that benefit the entire community.
