01/31/2023

FORT ATKINSON, WI – On December 31, 2022, Fort Community Credit Union (FCCU) demonstrated its mission of “putting every member in a better financial position than when we met them” by distributing a $300,000 patronage dividend to over 8,600 qualifying member-owners, ranging from $30 to $61 deposits each.

As a credit union, FCCU operates based on the needs and wants of its members, or member-owners, in the form a democratically elected volunteer board of directors. This cooperative business structure allows FCCU to put a primary focus on products and services that benefit individual members. In contrast, other financial institutions are primarily profit-driven, which may not always benefit individual customers because they do not have a say in what is done with those profits— only its shareholders do.

In December 2022, FCCU’s Board of Directors announced its eighth annual Member Loyalty Cash patronage dividend in the amount of $300,000 to be divided amongst 8,607 qualifying members at the end of the year. Since 2015, FCCU has returned $2.2 million to its members through this program.

“The Member Loyalty Cash reward is another benefit of our members participating in their credit union,” said Sue Johnson, President and CEO of FCCU. “The more qualifying products and services the member takes advantage of, the more cash they will receive at the end of the year on top of their normal savings dividends.”

Member Loyalty Cash dividends were automatically deposited into member checking or share savings accounts on December 31, 2022. Check out FCCU’s website for more information on the Member Loyalty Cash program.
